Gothenburg

Welcome to Gothenburg! A friendly city on the west coast of Sweden, home to a vibrant cultural scene, world-class restaurants, sustainable living and a fascinating history – all within walking distance. Adventure is never far away, with wide open spaces and magical archipelago islands waiting to be explored.

Gothenburg (Göteborg), Sweden’s second biggest city, combines vibrant urbanity, a friendly vibe and seaside charm. It also has culinary prowess and a world-class craft beer scene. Located on the west coast of Sweden, Gothenburg has a city pulse with nature on its doorstep. It’s known for its friendly locals, and no wonder – living in such a characterful town right by the sea would make anyone cheerful and welcoming.

"23 km konst” –
a 23-kilometre art trail

You can find 8 kilometers of temporary, art-covered construction fences in Gothenburg. At the initiative from the Swedish Transport Administration, artists were called to cover the fences which resulted in the colorful cityscape.

As a part of Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary celebrations, a 23-kilometre art trail from culture centre Blå stället in Angered to Röda sten in western Gothenburg, has been created. It all started with the international art competition Gothenburg Art 21 in 2017, where anyone could take part and the whole world was invited to vote for their favourites.
