From its Champs-Élysées inspired boulevard Vänersborg was made famous as ‘Little Paris’ by the local lyricist and songwriter Birger Sjöberg in the early 1900’s.
In the summer of 2023 Artscape, together with nine amazing artists, completed an urban art project in Vänersborg . The murals take inspiration from art history’s great pieces through a creative game of telephone. Famous artwork like Claude Monet’s “Bridge Over the Lily Pond” or Sofonisba Anguissola ‘The Chess Game’ was interpreted by local writers – the artists then created amazing murals inspired by their texts.
